Fine weather for final round of racing at Mallory...
The sun shone all weekend for the last 3 races of the 2011 season and the results were as tight as they have been all year. After an eventful test day suffering from suspension issues, we were saved by the kind loan of a set of forks from fellow racer Ben Wylie to see us through the weekend. After a disappointing qualifying session, only good enough for row three on the grid, race one went well...

Back to where it all began...
We return to Mallory Park for the final round of the Championship where it all began so well back in March. The recent good run of form, consistently securing points in every race from the last four rounds has secured me 4th place in the Championship overall. Admittedly after leading the Championship after round one and being in touch with the top three for the majority of the season, 4th overall...

No October heat-wave at Oulton Park!
The penultimate round of the Thundersport GB championship at Oulton Park in Cheshire was, as always an action packed weekend of racing. A one-day event at our local and favourite circuit on the calendar proved to be a real challenge as the weather took a turn for the worse. Heavy rain in testing and a small error of judgement under braking left me sliding into the gravel just 4 hours before...

Brands Hatch delivers 3 more consistent results as...
With heavy rain forecast and threatening all weekend, the team were prepared for anything and sure enough the heavens opened for qualifying. With a good wet set-up I managed a solid few laps securing 8th place and a second row start for the Superpole race. I made a good start, with my sights fixed on a podium place and front row start for Sunday’s races. Dry weather and some great close...

All the 3's for number 33............
A weekend which started out looking wet and windy turned out to be fine and dry and delivered some good consistent results. A flat circuit with a few technical corners, Pembrey is a place to race. Fast and fun and never short of action. A solid qualifying session with strong lap times secured me a second row start. Although a little disappointed to be in 5th, the superpole race would give me a...

Now we are well over half way through the season, points are becoming even more precious and sought after. With the newly refurbished Snetterton circuit in Norfolk offering nearly 3 miles of exciting racing every lap, the last thing we needed was the weather to get involved……so of course, it did. With a good day testing in the dry on Friday, lap times were falling and confidence was...

Positive test ahead of next round
With the next round of the championship just 2 weeks away on 16th/17th July, we travelled to Norfolk for a first look at the new Snetterton 300 circuit. An excellent day of sunshine and plenty of track time enabled me to work on some gearing and settings, learn the new extended 3 mile circuit and regain some confidence. After a few weeks break the whole team is ready to get back to winning ways.

Up's and Down's at Cadwell Park
At a circuit we have visited several times over the last few years, I was confident for a good weekend of racing. Going out for qualifying I set a fast lap early on in the session for the rest of the pack to chase. As 4 riders began to challenge for the lead I struggled with some mechanical issues and could not better my earlier lap time, pushing me back into 5th position on the grid. A dry race...

Windy, wet and a weekend to forget!
We had dry conditions for qualifying at the 3rd round of the championship at Anglesey and all seemed to be going to plan with a solid third place on the grid secured. The first real wet race of the season was to follow with the superpole race on Saturday afternoon with championship points up for grabs as well as a keeping or upgrading your spot on the front row for Sunday’s races. ...

Podiums, trophies and championship points galore!
The strong start to the 2011 championship campaign continued at Doningotn Park with more close racing and some great results. Technical issues from Friday’s test session were soon forgotten as qualifying began on the national circuit at Donington Park. 2nd place on the grid was secured with lap times between the top 4 separated by very little. With warm sunny weather all weekend, set up...

Good form continues on the World stage...
With over 50,000 spectators throughout the weekend, the second round of the World Superbike Championships at Donington Park was by far the biggest stage the GTE-Hornsey Racing team has competed on so far! The weekend started well with a strong qualifying session putting the bright orange machine amongst the quickest on track in 3rd place. After watching the best riders in the world compete in...

Round 1 - Mallory Park - Job done!
The eagerly anticipated start to the 2011 season finally took place last weekend at Mallory Park in Leicestershire. The hard work over the winter, pre-season preperations and test sessions all paid off with what proved to be a fantastic start to the season and the teams’ best racing weekend to date.  With good conditions for qualifying the plan was to get out on a clear track and set a...

2011 Kicks off in the wind and rain!
After what seems like a long cold winter ( I guess that’s the season though!) we finally were able to dust off the leathers, fire up the engine and get some laps done at local favourite circuit Oulton Park. As is normally the case with February trackdays, it was wet and windy. Despite not being ideal conditions, a valuable day of testing settings, gearing and the new superstock engine was...

2011 change of class with Thundersport GB
After a tricky season with engine and gearbox reliability issues in 2010, we move swiftly on into the new year with a slight change of class in the Thundersport GB series. On the same chassis but with a stock/standard engine for 2011, I will be riding in the 600cc Superstock Class. An equally competitive standard of racing as last year we will again be travelling to the UK’s finest racing...

Donington Park Grand Finale
The final round of the Thundersport GB 2010 season and the circuit we’ve all been waiting for. Donington Park is the first circuit I ever turned wheels on and will always remain my favorite for racing. Testing went well with the bike feeling at it’s best. Qualifying was tough but lying in 6th with 2 minutes remaining I was confident of a 2nd row start. As it has been all year, the...

Back to the Midlands for final two rounds.
Mallory Park was the venue for the penultimate round of the Thundersport GB 2010 championship. A circuit I know well and where I began my racing career in 2007 I was confident of some solid results over the weekend. Testing did not go to plan with mechanical problems meaning only a few laps of practice were completed. Qualifying went well posting my persoanl best time at the circuit. In a very...

Wet Weekend in Wales!
One of the most spectacular circuits on the calendar which, always attracts a few Irish riders from across the water, some exciting racing and some rather extreme weather conditions! Brands Hatch Bank Holiday Success
Still running the spare standard engine and with confidence high following the last round at Cadwell park, the long trip down to Brands Hatch proved to be successful 3 days. I qualified 8th but only 0.5...

Back on form at Cadwell Park
Last weekend the Thundersport GB championship travelled north returning for the second time the year to the Lincolnshire circuit of Cadwell Park. With a standard engine in to replace the troubled supersport gearbox, qualifying went ok with the bike performing reasonably well. 11th on the grid left me a lot to do in the superpole race but with 14 laps in dry conditions I set about progressing...

Non-championship event at Anglesey
Due to the misfortune with the gear box this season and the subsequent lack of competitive laps completed, a trip to Anglesey with the Wirral 100 Club this weekend should be great preparation for the next few rounds of the Thundersport Championship. Practice sessions at Cadwell Park last week also proved to be useful in setting the bike up for our return to the ‘Mountain’  at the...

Oulton Park Scorcher
In red hot sunshine, Oulton Park was a fantastic venue for the thundersport Championship Round marking the half way point of the season. It’s fair to say this season’s results have not reflected the hard work put in by the whole team and this weekend I had hoped to turn things around. After making several changes during the test sessions on Friday, I was not 100% happy with the bike...

Local circuit for next Thundersport championship...
The Cheshire Circuit of Oulton Park plays host to the next round of the Thundersport GB Championship. As one of my favorite circuits on the UK calendar, I am eagerly awaiting the prospect of turning my championship around. Hopefully we have seen the last of the gearbox gremlins and I can repeat the performance from Snetterton that showed I have the pace to compete with the front runners. ...

This weekend we travel north to the Lincolnshire Circuit of Cadwell Park. Home to ‘The Mountain’ a short steep part of the track where many bikes become intentionally airborne racing off into the tight woodland section. Disappointment at round one of 2010 Chamionship
Not quite the start we were hoping for to the 2010 championship, as the race team suffered technical problems over the weekend at Mallory Park. Saturday’s qualifying times were quicker than last year and a steady 12th position was enough to give a reasonable position on the grid with less than 0.5 secs between 12th and 3rd. For the first race I was focused and confident of reaching the top...
